Globalization and Agriculture

One of IDSP’s learners after going through the course is conducting research, advocacy campaigns, taking corrective legal actions for protecting the indigenous agriculture methodologies, food security and livelihood rights of small farmers in Sind.

Poverty [working with Fisher Communities]

A fellowship is granted to a learner of IDSP to work with the fisher communities in Lasbela district. The fellowship is aimed at identification of issues concerning the fisher communities, the impacts of globalization for small fishermen, role of middleman, cultural and social pathologies.


Cultural Revival [Radio Programs]

This fellowship is aimed at developing radio programs for cultural revival in Pashtoon areas of Balochistan province. The program identifies the value associated with culture and social pathologies woven in the societal life of the inhabitants of the area.

Learning Center [Redefining School]

This fellowship is aimed at experimenting alternative learning mechanisms in schools. The program is being piloted in Khuzdar district of Balochistan Province.

Information Technology

A resource center has been established at IDSP to facilitate the learning opportunities for the community workers, youth and disadvantaged groups of the civil society.

Khuzdar

A center is established to provide a place for local youth to interact with each other, have access to Internet and other computing facilities. A library is also being developed. The local government has provided the place for the operation.  Thus far more then two hundred young men and women have facilitated from the center and the number is growing.

 Information and Learning Center Lasbela

 Discussions are on with District Nazim Lasbela on setting up of a similar setup in Lasbela and in due time this will also be established. The group ahs develop a Citizen Community Board and has collected the initial funding. The basic operation is on and will further be developed in a fully functional facility center. 

Reflective Learning Centers

The program aims to develop new reference points for the development of female entrepreneurs to address the issues of poverty. The goals of the program are:

Two resource centers are established in rural Quetta. Many other earning spaces are being created around these centers where adolescents will learn the basic skills of literacy, sanitation, science education and will link up to the resource centers. Two organizations around these centers are developed and are functional.
